Driven by a failed experiment and personal despair, a researcher isolates a cell-duplicating mutation virus on a remote island, only for common lab pests to consume it and mutate into giant, human-sized creatures. These insects rapidly evolve advanced intelligence, building complex structures and forming deep faction alliances to survive. Though they ultimately come to worship the scientist as a god and attempt to isolate themselves on abandoned islands, escalating resource tensions eventually shatter the peace, triggering a global war known as "The Great Conflict" in the Land of Insectia.
